#17

Dear friends,

How are y’all doing? I loved connecting with y’all last week and I am truly appreciative to be able to retain a sense of normality being able to continue to pass on the wisdom of yoga. I truly believe from the depths of my heart that everyone should be able to access yoga no matter what - so there are free 45 minute yoga classes every Friday at 7.30pm live-streamed from Practice Yoga Austin’s Facebook page and there are three YouTube videos on lillierinyoga.com from the last three live streams if you’re not able to pay or participate in the workshops right now - and I look forward to meeting you in a workshop one day.

Tomorrow I have a brand new workshop at 9am CST. We’ll be doing yoga poses, breath work and meditation and we’ll be covering a different yogic philosophy every week - tomorrow will be about Ahimsa, the first Yama (ethical rules) and how we can apply that to our yoga practice and to our every day life.

This is a 90 minute interactive workshop via Zoom. This is great as it means I can answer any questions you might have and I can give feedback on your form. Zoom is free for you to download and you’ll get one Zoom Meeting Number for the whole series to make the process seamless. If you book the Monday series (4 workshops) - you get $5 off. The workshop includes optional homework sent to you so you can carry on benefiting from all the wisdom that yoga has to offer for the rest of the week :o)

The benefits of booking a series: you get the lovely discount, it’s scheduled in the calendar for a whole month so you don’t need to think about booking it or paying for it, it also helps you to prioritize your mental, physical and emotional health and it also means you can really build up on your knowledge from the prior week.

You can also totally book individual workshops if that suits you better right now.

To join the workshop, you need to download and install the Zoom app on your phone, tablet or computer and if you can, connect your device to your TV and set up as many screens as possible with one behind you locked upside down! You also need a yoga mat (or a towel) and some comfy clothes. You could also dim the lights, light some candles and maybe put the diffuser on or light an incense before the workshop to set the ambience!

I’m so looking forward to connecting with you on the mat tomorrow.

Private Classes

I also have private classes available - for six people for instance, it would be $10 each for a 60 minute class. I can tailor the class to suit you - it could be a Restorative, Gentle, Power, Ashtanga-based or a more meditative class. Please reach out if you’d like a private virtual class - I teach on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays and I have a few available slots left.

British Sign Language Classes

I’m so excited to have finally started the weekly British Sign Language workshops which are on every Wednesday at 7pm BST. If you’d like to sign up for the workshops - drop me an email!

Yogic Philosophy of the Week

Yoga is an eight-fold path and the fourth of the eight limbs of yoga is Pranayama. Breath control or breath work. Prana means energy or life-source. Our breath is our life-source literally and figuratively. There are many different kinds of Pranayama - some give you energy, some balance you, some make you feel all mellow. It’s great - it’s natural, it’s free and it’s accessible! I always teach Pranayama in my worksop - come and join us!

Pose of the Week

This week I’ve been loving the Wild Thing. There are other names for this poses but isn’t Wild Thing just the coolest name ever? It’s a chest and heart opener and it’s said that this pose floods
